Who I am is Who I am
I am a working mom.
I am a working MOM?
I am a WORKING MOM!
My beautifully gifted daughter will be 2 years old in a few days and I am still reeling in disbelief that I am a mom. I am a working mom. And it is HARD!!!!
I decided to return to work 2 months after my daughter was born…to the dismay of my mind, body and soul. To say I struggled is to say the least. I invoked the spirit of all family and friend mothers to get me through each day. And I can say that through it all I was pretty successful at my job. But after 2 and a 1/2 years of working an average of 10 hour days, including some weekends, coupled with my 3 hour commute to and from Brooklyn, I decided to forego the arduous task of balancing work and life and put all my efforts into being the best mother, partner and family-friend to all I love the most. So as of June, I quit all employment and just doing that, it was so satisfying. I spent the summer doing what I enjoy most—vacationing with family, lounging at the beach, laughing with family and friends, and just BEING.I loved the summer of 2018.
And now my daughter will be 2 in a few days and I have decided to fully transitioned into full time consulting and freelancing. My specialties as a program developer, theater director and artist will allow me to utilize my expertise in these fields while not compromising my family…completely. And I will be a better mom and fiancé as a result of the hard passion projects I pursue.
Happy Early Birthday Baby Girl!!!
